Global pop star Ed Sheeran recently credited his transformation to a leaner and a much fitter version of himself to fatherhood.

Admitting that health and fitness were not always his top priorities, he says fatherhood marked a major turning point in his life—one that ultimately helped him lose around 14 kg over the past five years and adopt a much healthier lifestyle.

" It all came in at the same time of wanting to be a responsible dad, wanting to feel and look good," Ed Sheeran said in an interview with Men's Health. His consistent routine is now shaped around weights, reformer pilates and running.

Ed Sheeran admitted that he lived a pretty unhealthy life from the age of 20 to 30, even though he was doing well in his professional life; it didn't reflect well in his personal life.

He also mentioned that he had undergone a drastic lifestyle shift that saw him move away significantly from alcohol, smoking and unhealthy food that shaped his twenties, into a life defined by balance and moderation. What he also believes is that wellness is a direct mirror to mental health.

Ed Sheeran’s journey highlights a relatable truth: major life changes often spark healthier choices. In his case, fatherhood became the catalyst—not just for losing 14 kg, but for building habits that support long-term fitness, balance, and well-being.
