AIIMS Delhi caters to over five lakh patients annually and is committed to providing accessible, scalable, and transformative health care solutions, said Dr M. Srinivas, while delivering the Guest of Honour address at THE WEEK Best Hospitals Awards 2024.
Dr Srinivas was among the several distinguished speakers who addressed the gathering at the Sheraton in Hyderabad.
He also spoke about the institute’s innovative advancements in patient care. Drawing a parallel between the AIIMS and THE WEEK, he said, “Like THE WEEK, AIIMS also works with a human touch.”
Dr Srinivas acknowledged the significant challenge of managing AIIMS’s waiting lists, which led to increasing the bed capacity and upgrading operation theatres in every block. “Over the last two years, we have added many beds and improved operation theatre capabilities to serve more patients,” he said.
He spoke about AIIMS Delhi’s dedication to implementing government initiatives effectively and leveraging corporate social responsibility. “We ensure all government initiatives are best utilised at our institute. AIIMS Delhi is revolutionising patient care with innovative and accessible services,” he added.
Dr Srinivas highlighted AIIMS Delhi’s focus on enhancing patient comfort and the quality of care. “We are unwavering in our commitment to providing quality care with advanced technology,” he said.
He shared details about AIIMS SBI Card, a digital innovation beneficial to patients, and the Santhust application, which allows patients to rate services and ensures complaints are resolved to their satisfaction.
He thanked THE WEEK for acknowledging AIIMS’s contributions to health care.
Having assumed his role in September 2022 for a five-year tenure, Dr Srinivas brings a wealth of experience, having previously served as the Dean of ESIC Hospital and Medical College in Hyderabad and as a professor in the Department of Pediatric Surgery at AIIMS, Delhi.
