Owen Wilson returns after a year for Season 2 of the Apple TV+ sports comedy "Stick," slated to premiere on Wednesday, November 4, 2026.
The new chapter will explore the events around washed-up former professional golfer Pryce Cahill (played by Owen Wilson) as he aims for an unexpected sports comeback, in hopes of becoming the oldest golfer to win the U.S. Open.
Season 2 lands on November 4 with two episodes on the first day, followed by an episode each week, dropping every Wednesday, until the season finale, Episode 10, on December 30 2026.
In addition to returning cast members Owen Wilson, Peter Dager (as the young golf prodigy Santi), Marc Maron, and Timothy Olyphant, Season 2 will introduce "Pluribus" and "Better Call Saul" star Rhea Seehorn appearing in the show as an integral character.
The first season of "Stick" received generally positive, warm reviews from critics and general audiences. Some have described it as an endearing, feel-good comfort watch. It currently holds an 81% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an IMDb score of 7.2/10.
The show had its share of criticisms. Some found the narrative formulaic, while pointing out that it relied heavily on predictable underdog sports tropes and predictable character arcs. A few reviewers also mentioned the lost momentum in the episodes when the characters set out for an RV road trip, introducing too many minor subplots that distracted from the central duo. The humour, too, was seen as "mildly amusing, low-stakes wit" rather than laugh-out-loud, soaring comedy.
Ultimately, while some found it creatively safe, its warm-hearted charm has found a loyal fanbase eager for the second season.
