Vijay Sethupathi’s Tamil comedy drama "Baththa" has maintained a steady run at the Indian box office, collecting an estimated ₹1.29 crore net on its seventh day, Wednesday, October 7, 2026. With this, the film’s total domestic net collection has reached ₹14.04 crore, while its India gross collection stands at ₹16.26 crore per box office tracker Sacnilk.

Directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan and featuring Lijomol Jose alongside Sethupathi and newcomer Master Sai Prithviraj, "Baththa" has benefited from strongly positive audience reception. Although the film opened with a modest ₹1.50 crore net on Thursday, October 1, it saw a significant uptick on its second day, collecting ₹2.70 crore net. Friday was also a public holiday, which helped boost footfall.

The film continued its strong momentum over the weekend. It earned ₹2.75 crore net on Saturday and reached its first-week peak on Sunday, collecting ₹3.10 crore net. The Sunday performance was the strongest single-day result for the film during its opening week.

After the weekend, "Baththa" settled into a more moderate but stable weekday pattern. It collected ₹1.30 crore on Monday and ₹1.40 crore on Tuesday. Wednesday brought in ₹1.29 crore, a relatively small 7.9% decline from the previous day. The steady weekday numbers suggest that the film is holding up well rather than experiencing a sharp post-weekend drop.

Across its first seven days, "Baththa" recorded 1,337 shows on its opening day and maintained more than 1,200 shows on most subsequent days. Its overall first-week performance indicates a gradual, word-of-mouth-driven theatrical run.

The film is also performing considerably better than Vijay Sethupathi’s recent release "Ace". That film reportedly earned around ₹6.55 crore net in India during its first seven days, with a gross collection of ₹7.53 crore. In comparison, "Baththa" has already more than doubled that net figure in the same period.

The performance also recalls the slow-burn success of Sethupathi’s earlier films such as "Pizza" and "Soodhu Kavvum", which grew through strong audience word of mouth. While "Baththa" still has a long way to go before its final verdict is clear, its ₹14.04 crore first-week net collection and stable mid-week numbers give it a promising start.
