"The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest" continued its strong box-office performance on Day 2, collecting a net ₹11.25 crore in India from 6,887 shows. The film has now earned ₹22.90 crore in India gross and ₹19.25 crore in India net collections. Overseas, it added ₹1.25 crore on Day 2, taking its total overseas gross to ₹2.25 crore. Its worldwide gross collection has reached ₹25.15 crore, according to Sacnilk data.
The film has given Sidharth Malhotra a strong return to solo theatrical releases. "Vvaan" has comfortably moved ahead of his recent films "Yodha" and "Marjaavaan", while also surpassing his previous release, "Param Sundari". After two days, "Vvaan" has collected around ₹19 crore net in India. In comparison, "Param Sundari" collected about ₹15.50 crore, "Marjaavaan" ₹14.22 crore and "Yodha" ₹9.85 crore over the same period.
While "Vvaan" remains below the much bigger opening levels of Malhotra's career-best multi-starrers, "Ek Villain" and "Brothers", its two-day domestic performance is among his stronger results as a solo lead.
Notably, the film has done better than the Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor's supernatural hit "Stree". The former's two-day India net collection is about 7% higher than the ₹17.69 crore earned by the original "Stree" in 2018. "Stree" opened at ₹6.82 crore on Day 1 and rose to ₹10.87 crore on Day 2. "Vvaan" showed a similar growth pattern, rising from ₹8 crore on Day 1 to ₹11 crore on Day 2.
What is 'The Vvaan' about?
'The Vvaan' follows Rishi (Sidharth Malhotra), a city-bred rationalist and atheist, who returns to his ancestral village in Bihar alongside his wife, Mamta (Tamannaah Bhatia), to sell an inherited piece of land. The village borders a mysterious, forbidden jungle governed by a strict ancient rule: no one must enter after dark. However, Rishi dismisses these warnings as local superstition. When plans are proposed to clear part of the woods for a new road, he inadvertently awakens the divine Van Devi (forest goddess). Drawn into a battle against ancient supernatural forces, he confronts entities beyond logic to save his people.
