Nani's action drama "The Paradise" continued its strong run at the box office on Day 3, collecting ₹15.25 crore net in India from 6,889 shows. With this, the film’s three-day India net collection reached ₹76.40 crore, while its India gross stood at ₹90.50 crore.
Directed by Srikanth Odela, who previously directed the actor in "Dasara", the film, which features Kayadu Lohar as the female lead, also performed strongly overseas. It earned ₹4 crore on its third day, taking its overseas gross to ₹29 crore. As a result, "The Paradise" has collected ₹119.50 crore worldwide in its first three days, comfortably crossing the ₹100 crore mark.
However, the film’s Day 3 India net collection grew by only 2.3% compared with Day 2. This suggests that the film’s opening-day strength is still doing much of the work at the box office.
The Telugu version continued to dominate the film’s domestic business. It earned ₹13.35 crore net from 3,617 shows, recording an overall occupancy of 46.1%. Night screenings performed best, reaching 53.46% occupancy.
The Hindi version collected ₹1.65 crore net from 2,809 shows, with an overall occupancy of 19%. Its night shows recorded the highest occupancy at 33.09%. The Tamil version added ₹25 lakh net from 463 shows, with an overall occupancy of 21%.
Despite mixed and largely negative reviews from critics, "The Paradise" has benefited from the huge response to its opening day. Its three-day numbers have made it the biggest opening weekend of Nani’s career by both India net collection and worldwide gross.
The film has also surpassed several of Nani’s recent releases in three-day collections. "Dasara" collected around ₹45 crore net in India and ₹71 crore worldwide in its first three days in 2023. "Saripodhaa Sanivaaram" collected ₹23.35 crore net in India and around ₹50 crore worldwide in three days in 2024. "Hi Nanna" earned around ₹16 crore net in India and ₹24 crore worldwide during the same period in 2023.
A major factor behind the huge opening of "The Paradise" is its wider release and higher ticket prices. The film had 7,552 shows compared with 5,705 for "Dasara", giving it a much larger platform.
Its worldwide three-day gross of ₹119.50 crore has also already exceeded the reported lifetime theatrical gross of "Saripodhaa Sanivaaram" (₹101.51 crore) and "Hi Nanna" (₹76.35 crore).
The key question now is whether "The Paradise" can maintain its momentum. Its strong opening has created a substantial cushion, but the relatively small growth on Day 3 points to a front-loaded box-office trend. Unlike films that build through strong word of mouth and weekend growth, "The Paradise" will now need sustained collections in the coming days to turn its powerful opening into a long theatrical run.
