"Game of Thrones" actor Charles Dance, who played the now-iconic Tywin Lannister in the long-running fantasy series, is attached to star in the sequel to "The Batman", fronted by Robert Pattinson. The actor is eyed to play Christopher Dent, the father of Harvey Dent. The latter, aka Two-Face, is being played by Sebastian Stan.

According to Deadline, Charles Dance is reportedly in negotiations to join the cast of "The Batman - Part II", where he is reportedly expected to play Christopher Dent, the father of Harvey Dent. Harvey Dent himself is set to be portrayed by Sebastian Stan.

If the actor indeed signs the dotted lines, it would be perfect casting since Christopher Dent is a patriarch of the Dent family and someone who is portrayed as abusive, and a primary catalyst for Harvey's eventual transformation into Two-Face. Also an alcoholic, the father created profound childhood trauma that laid the groundwork for Harvey’s mental health issues. The lore says that this abuse included using a coin to decide whether to beat his son, directly causing Harvey's deep-seated issues with free will and his compulsion to rely on a coin to make decisions.

Directed by Matt Reeves, the sequel is scheduled for a theatrical release on October 1, 2027. Filming is expected to begin in late May 2026 in London.

Robert Pattinson will reprise his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman while Scarlett Johansson is reportedly on board to play Gilda Dent, Harvey's wife.

Returning stars include Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.

As per reports, other actors who were considered for the role includes Daniel Craig, Brad Pitt, and Stellan Skarsgård.

Charles Dance's career began on stage with the Royal Shakespeare Company in the 1970s before he moved into screen acting. He is widely celebrated for his "devilish aplomb" in playing authoritative, intimidating, and villainous figures.
