We had reported last year that "Pushpa 2" actor Allu Arjun and filmmaker Atlee are teaming up for a "magnum opus" backed by Sun Pictures. We will soon have a title, set to be revealed on April 8 (at 11 am), exactly a year since the project was first announced.

The first teaser poster shared by the makers hints that Allu Arjun is playing a werewolf, judging by the furry arms and claws that recall classic movies like "An American Werewolf in London" and "The Wolfman". And given Atlee's penchant for taking inspiration from existing movies, one wouldn't be surprised if this film, which also features Deepika Padukone, would be a fresh take on the human-turned-werewolf idea.

Allu Arjun had earlier teased that the movie would be basically about "magic with mass & a world beyond imagination!"

The team had earlier revealed a video showing Allu Arjun and Atlee flying to the U.S. to meet some of the top visual effects firms there to come up with innovative ideas for what is said to be a massive-budget, VFX-driven spectacle.

In an earlier interview with Variety, the "Jawan" filmmaker shared that it has been his dream project for a while. "This is the film I have always dreamed of making, and it's taken years of quiet work to shape the screenplay into something I truly believe in. To now bring it to life with the Icon Star Allu Arjun Sir, under the visionary leadership of Kalanithi Maran Sir at Sun Pictures, is nothing short of a dream-come-true. The film is mass at its core and magical in its storytelling, crafted to move and entertain audiences worldwide."

The project is awaited with high hopes, given Allu Arjun's extraordinary run at the box office. "Pushpa 2: The Rule", a sequel to director Sukumar's "Pushpa: The Rise", grossed around Rs 1800 crore globally.

In October last year, Ranveer Singh, who worked with Atlee on an ad alongside Bobby Deol and Sreeleela, said the project promises big things.

Talking to members of the press, Singh shared he had visited the project's sets to get a glimpse of what Atlee was ‘cooking’, and what he saw there excited him. "I happened to visit him (Atlee) on the sets of his current film because my wife (Deepika) was shooting with him. You may have heard it before, but you can take it from me, he is creating something that you may have never experienced in Indian cinema before."

AA22 x A6 sees Deepika reteaming with Atlee after their successful collaboration on the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer "Jawan".
