'Dhurandhar 2' box office performance: How did Ranveer Singh movie do in second week compared to 'Baahubali 2' and 'Pushpa 2'?

Directed by Aditya Dhar, "Dhurandhar: The Revenge" saw Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, R. Madhavan, and Sara Arjun reprising their roles from the first film. After two weeks, it has already outpaced the original in terms of overall gross

A significant but natural drop in collections for "Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge" was observed at the end of its second-week run.

According to Sacnilk data analysis, it collected Rs 20 crore on Day 14 as opposed to the Rs 27 crore the day before — still a strong number when we consider that's around the same number which some big Hollywood tentpoles open with, most recently, "Project Hail Mary".

The overseas gross now stands at Rs 365 crore, taking the worldwide total to Rs 1,466.47 crore.

It must be also noted that the ongoing IPL 2026 season has not severely impacted the footfalls.

"Dhurandhar 2" was doing a pace of Rs 40 crore per day for 8 days in the Hindi market. The Hindi version of "Pushpa 2" comes second, doing the same pace for only 5 days, thereby setting a new benchmark for opening-week performance.

In terms of pace, other comparative blockbusters like "Animal" and "Jawan" trail behind "Dhurandhar 2". When we look at the early pace, "Dhurandhar 2" has outpaced both "Pushpa 2" and "Baahubali 2".

For "Pushpa 2", the Rs 40 crore+ Hindi net streak ended after the first Monday (Day 5), with collections dipping slightly below that mark in the Hindi belt after that period.

Then comes "Baahubali 2", "Jawan", and "Animal". Comparatively, these three movies were doing the Rs 40 crore/day figure for 4 days. But we should remember that "Baahubali 2" crossed the Rs 1000-crore mark in two weeks in 2017 — without today's ticket prices, inflation and IMAX boom. So, historically, the most legendary two-week run belongs to the Rajamouli blockbuster. Had it been released today, it would've probably matched the same number of "Dhurandhar 2" or outpaced it.

When we look at the individual collections of each week, in terms of the India net collection alone, "Dhurandhar 2" made Rs 674.17 crore in its first week and Rs 245.85 crore in its second week. Despite a 63.5% drop from the first week, "Dhurandhar 2" continues to demonstrate unusual weekday strength.

The film's first-week performance was powered by a massive Rs 102.55 crore opening day and an extended weekend that peaked at Rs 114.85 crore on Day 4. It became the fastest film to reach the Rs 600 crore net mark.

Though this spike eventually dropped to the Rs 20 crore range by the end of the second week, it saw a record-breaking second Sunday (Day 11) performance with around Rs 68.10 crore noted in earnings.

By the end of its second week (Day 14), the total domestic net of "Dhurandhar 2" touched Rs 920.02 crore, officially surpassing the lifetime collection of the first "Dhurandhar" (Rs 840.20 crore) in just 11 days.

"Pushpa 2: The Rule" did Rs 688.35 crore in its first week and Rs 284.60 crore in its second week, taking the 14-day total earnings to Rs 972.95 crore.

"Baahubali 2: The Conclusion", on the other hand, did Rs 539 crore in its first week and Rs 264.25 crore in its second week, registering its cumulative two-week earnings at Rs 803.25 crore.

"Pushpa 2: The Rule" significantly outpaced the historical benchmark set by "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion" during their respective first two weeks. While "Baahubali 2" held the domestic crown for seven years, "Pushpa 2" rewrote history by becoming the fastest film to enter the Rs 1000 crore net club in India.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, "Dhurandhar: The Revenge" saw Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, R. Madhavan, and Sara Arjun reprising their roles from the original. Akshaye Khanna was the chief antagonist of the first, while Rampal took over the position in the second.
