On Tuesday, Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar: The Revenge (Dhurandhar 2) reportedly went on to cross the ₹900 crore mark at the worldwide box office. Domestically, meanwhile, the action-spy thriller collected ₹56.55 crore, taking its total to ₹575.67 crore.
In spite of having no theatrical run in the Middle East, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has gone past ₹231.57 crore in overseas gross collections, taking its total worldwide gross to ₹919 crore.
Needless to say, the Ranveer Singh-starrer has already become part of one of the highest-grossing Indian film franchises of all time. Bollywood can be proud, as it has reportedly become the third-biggest film franchise in India, behind the ‘Yash Raj FIlm spyverse’ and Baahubali franchises.
Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar 2 have raked in ₹1,300 crore and ₹919 crore respectively, taking the franchise's overall total collections past the ₹2,200 crore mark. This is only behind the ₹2,462 crore set by S. S. Rajamouli's Baahubali: The Beginning (2015), Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017), and the 10th-anniversary special release Baahubali: The Epic, and the ₹3,195 crore record held by the YRF Spy Universe.
The Spy Universe includes Salman Khan's Tiger, Hrithik Roshan's War, and Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan films, along with Alia Bhatt's upcoming Alpha, The Times of India said in a report. It was the ₹2,002 crore record set by Pushpa: The Beginning and Pushpa 2: The Rule that Dhurandhar managed to surpass to reach the third spot, the report added.
Interestingly, the creators of the Telugu period fantasy have officially announced a massive, two-part 3D animated film titled Baahubali: The Eternal War. This could further push its collection tally up.
On Day 1, Dhurandhar 2 netted ₹102.55 crore, followed by ₹80.72 crore on Day 2, ₹113 crore on Day 3, ₹114.85 crore on Day 4, and ₹65 crore on Day 5.

Dhurandhar 2 now holds the record for the biggest extended opening weekend for a Bollywood movie worldwide, as well as at the domestic box office.
