Given its strong acceptance among its target audience, a third season of "Wednesday" was a given. Netflix has not only confirmed that filming for the new chapter is ongoing, but also new cast members for guest and full-fledged appearances for the next Nevermore Academy adventure.

In a major announcement, Winona Ryder's involvement, albeit in a guest appearance, has been confirmed, marking a reunion with her "Beetlejuice" director Tim Burton, who is heavily involved in the show, handling directorial and additional creative duties. Ryder joins Eva Green, who joined Season 3 as Morticia Addams' (Catherine Zeta-Jones) long-lost sister.

Ryder and Green are joined by Chris Sarandon ("Dog Day Afternoon", "The Princess Bride"), Noah Taylor ("Peaky Blinders", "Game of Thrones"), Oscar Morgan ("A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms"), and Kennedy Moyer ("Task", "Roofman").

Jenna Ortega (Wednesday Addams), Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams), and Luis Guzmán (Gomez Addams) return in recurring lead roles.

Tim Burton, who is also executive producer, said in an official Netflix statement, “I’m so excited to be back for Season 3, and it’s great to be reunited with all of the original cast. The addition of some dear friends and past collaborators of mine — Winona, Eva, Chris, and Noah — makes this season extra special. I feel very lucky.”

Showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar added, “It’s our dark delight to fling open Nevermore Academy’s gates once more as we begin production on Season 3. We thank our invincible cast and crew for their continued commitment to doom and gloom. To the fans, we appreciate your patience and ravenous online commentary — your twisted theories have inspired nightmares. This season, we welcome new students, new teachers, and excavate some long-rotting Addams Family secrets. Don’t say you weren’t warned.”
