The promo of the much-anticipated Kamal Haasan-Rajinikanth reunion is out. Nelson Dilipkumar ("Jailer", "Doctor") is confirmed to direct, with composer Anirudh handling the music (once again) and filmmaker-cinematographer Rajiv Menon ("Bombay", "Guru") on board as the director of photography.
The promo has Nelson written all over it. Similar to the promos they did for the "Jailer" films, it features Nelson trying to persuade Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth to pick their respective outfits and accessories — comically, one refuses to pick the same chosen by the other — until the two legends show up in full costume, walking in slo-mo into a garage inhabited by scantily clad women throwing glances at the duo, while they walk over to their vintage Mercedes car. Now, here comes the real question: "Who is the hero?" asks Kamal. Rajini asks both Nelson and Anirudh, who have been hiding in the back seat all this while, to answer this question.

The title, however, is yet to be revealed. The project, tentatively known as KHxRK, sees the duo sharing the screen after over four decades. They last appeared together in the 1979 film 'Ninaithale Inikkum'. Expected to have a strong retro flavour, as evidenced by the score used in the promo, the poster and the superstars' outfits, the project is backed by the Red Giant Movies banner.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth has completed shooting for "Jailer 2".
