Colin Farrell returns for Season 2 of 'Sugar', Apple TV announces streaming date

Colin Farrell's recent streaming successes include HBO Max's 'The Penguin', for which he was nominated for the Emmys in the Best Actor in a Limited Series category

Those who got a big kick out of the first season of the Colin Farrell-led neo-noir detective series Sugar won't have to wait long, as Apple TV has announced the streaming premiere date of the second season, along with the first-look images.

Executive produced by Colin Farrell, who plays John Sugar, an investigator with a mysterious background, the eight-episode second season is scheduled to begin streaming on June 19, 2026, with one episode, followed by one weekly episode, until its Season finale on August 7.

It was created by Mark Protosevich. As per the official logline, Sugar will take on a "new case, tracking the troubled older brother of an up-and-coming local boxer as his search for his beloved missing sister continues. As the investigation expands into a citywide conspiracy with sinister intentions, Sugar must reckon with himself to answer the question — how far will he go to do what’s right?"

Sam Catlin will serve as the showrunner of the new season, which will have new cast members comprising Jin Ha, Raymond Lee, Tony Dalton, Laura Donnelly, Sasha Calle and special guest star Shea Whigham. Catlin is also executive producing the show under his banner Short Drive Entertainment, aside from co-executive producers Audrey Chon and Simon Kinberg under their banner Genre Films. Scott Greenberg and Chip Vucelich are the other executive producers.

Aside from Sugar, Farrell's recent streaming successes include HBO Max's The Penguin, for which he was nominated for the Emmys in the Best Actor in a Limited Series category.
