Tamil cinema superstars Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan are expected to act alongside each other in director Nelson's latest project, a new report claimed on Thursday.
The powerhouse project, dubbed Nelson07 for now, is expected to be officially announced by the makers in early-mid February. Shooting will begin just two weeks after official word from the makers.
"Thalaivar and Ulaganayagan unite for a power-packed film directed by #Nelson," the announcement said, adding that Rajiv Menon had come onboard as the DOP. Red Giant Movies is expected to produce the film independently.

If the speculations are true, the upcoming film would be a major spectacle for fans to look forward to, as the two Tamil cinema titans would be appearing together on screen after more than five decades.
The last time the two acted alongside each other as lead chatacters was in I.V. Sasi's 1979 fantasy film, Alavuddinum Athbutha Vilakkum.
For years, the duo maintained a legendary pact to work separately to avoid affecting each other's box-office potential. However, Kamal Haasan's recent comments at the NEXA SIIMA Awards back in September 2025 suggest they are now ready to split the "biscuit" and share the screen once more for the sake of their fans.
This comes after the two collaborated for Thalaivar173, which was produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI), and had Rajinikanth in the lead. The film saw both Lokesh Kanagaraj and Sundar C. resign over creative differences, and is now helmed by Cibi Chakaravarthi.
It is expected that shooting for Nelson07 will begin after wrapping up Jailer 2, and then completing the shoot for Thalaivar173 in the summer.
