Nivin Pauly is not just back at the box office, he has made a massive statement. His latest release Sarvam Maya is going full throttle and is the runaway Christmas winner with no other film challenging it even remotely. Such are the trends that the film became Nivin's biggest worldwide grosser in just eight days, overcoming his 2015 blockbuster Premam.
Day 9 was another brilliant day for Sarvam Maya as it raked in close to Rs 5 crore in Kerala alone. The film also had an excellent day overseas with Gulf countries topping up due to the holiday boost. With the weekend now into effect in major overseas territories, Sarvam Maya is set to enter the Rs 100 crore club worldwide on its tenth day.
It will be Nivin's first entry to this milestone club and that it has been done with a small-scale entertainer like Sarvam Maya shows his true box office potential. Comedy entertainers have always been his forte and this Akhil Sathyan directorial has managed to tap his vintage skills in a way no film could in the last six years.
On day 10, the advance booking in Kerala alone is Rs 1.81 crore, which is the third-best day for the film so far if we just factor in the booking status. Another mammoth day is on the cards in the state for Sarvam Maya and it should clock anywhere between Rs 5-5.50 crore, depending on how the trends go from late afternoon onwards.
There is a plethora of Pongal-Sankranti releases coming up and they could affect Sarvam Maya's screencount but not by a significant amount, considering that the film still has excellent momentum.
