Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 proved to be a worthy prequel to the first instalment of Rishab Shetty's masterpiece as it is breaking records in its home turf.
On Day 5, the movie recorded the all-time biggest first Monday in Karnataka, earning Rs 15 crore gross in the state. Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion grossed Rs 11.5 crore on its first Monday while Yash's KGF Chapter 2 grossed Rs 9.5 crore on the same day.
Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 collected Rs 93 crore in gross collection in five days at Karnataka box office and crossed Rs 100 crore on the sixth day.
If the movie manages to continue the momentum, the Rishab Shetty movie will be the first to cross Rs 200 crore in Karnataka. The biggest grosser in the state is the previous Kantara movie, which collected Rs 183.6 crore. KGF Chapter 2 is close behind with Rs 183 crore and a distant third spot is held by Baahubali with Rs 129 crore.
The total gross domestic collection of Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 in India was recorded at Rs 308 crore on Day 5 while the overseas collection was Rs 60 crore. This takes the total worldwide collection to Rs 368 crore.
The net domestic collection was reported to be Rs 256.75 crore on Day 5. On Day 6, Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 has collected Rs 18.8 crore as of 8 pm, taking the Day 6 net collection to Rs 275.55 crore.
Idli Kadai has collected Rs 41.07 crore, as per figures available till Tuesday evening. It has grossed Rs 38.65 crore in Tamil Nadu while in Karnataka it collected Rs 4.25 crore. The Dhanush starrer minted Rs 2.92 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana region and raked in Rs 90 lakh in Kerala. The rest of India figures stood at Rs 53 lakh.
