Apple TV+ is bringing out a new original thriller series titled The Last Frontier, with Jason Clarker as the lead. Created by Jon Bokenkamp and Richard D’Ovidio, the 10-episode show has Jason Clarke involved as an executive producer.

The streamer will release the first two episodes on October 10, followed by one episode each week on Friday until the finale airs on December 5.

As per the official logline, Clarke plays a U.S Marshal dealing with the complicated aftermath of the crash of a prison transport plane carrying violent criminals.

Though the concept is reminiscent of the Nicholas Cage action hit Con Air, The Last Frontier aims for a different setting and narrative approach. It is set in Alaska's remote wilderness where the majority of the action unfolds. Things get even more complicated when the officer learns that it was not an accident but a carefully planned move.

Clarke's co-stars include Dominic Cooper, Haley Bennett, Simone Kessell, Dallas Goldtooth, Tait Blum, and Alfre Woodard.

Aside from creating and writing, Bokenkamp and D’Ovidio also serve as executive producers with Clarke, Laura Benson, Glenn Kessler, and Albert Kim. Extraction and Extraction 2 director Sam Hargrave is part of the directing team.

Jason Clarke was recently seen in Christopher Nolan's Oscar-winning Oppenheimer. He is noted for his roles in Zero Dark Thirty, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and First Man. Aside from The Last Frontier, he has an integral part in the upcoming Kathryn Bigelow thriller A House of Dynamite, co-starring Rebecca Ferguson and Idris Elba.
