'Kantara: Chapter 1' box office update: Rishab Shetty's prequel collects Rs 62 crore

The Kannada version demonstrated exceptional audience engagement with 88.13% occupancy, particularly strong in Mysuru, Shivamogga, and Kundapura. Other language versions also performed commendably

Judging by the early box-office figures for Rishab Shetty's Kantara: Chapter 1, the epic has registered good occupancy across regions.

Written and directed by Rishab, the film, which was released in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Tamil versions, has so far collected Rs 62 crore, as reported by Sacnilk report. The film’s worldwide total is expected to cross Rs 80 crore soon.

The Kannada version registered a total occupancy of 88.13%. Regions such as Mysuru, Shivamogga, and Kundapura registered the highest percentage. The film had the most number of shows in Bengaluru: 1021

The Telugu version registered a total occupancy of 75.34%. Of all the regions, Hyderabad has the largest number of shows: 557.  Regions such as Mahbubnagar and Kakinada registered the highest occupancy percentage.

The Hindi version registered a total occupancy of 29.84%. The largest number of shows was slotted for Mumbai, NCR, Pune, and Ahmedabad, with the highest occupancy percentage registered in regions such as Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad.

The Tamil version registered a total occupancy of  71.42%, with Bengaluru, Pondicherry, Chennai, Kochi, and Trichy among the centers registering the highest occupancy percentage.

The Malayalam version registered a total occupancy of 66.61%, with centers like Bengaluru, Kochi, Thrissur, and Kozhikode registering the highest occupancy percentage.

Also starring Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah, and Jayaram in lead roles, Kantara: Chapter 1 will be followed by Kantara: Chapter 2, promised in the film's closing moments.

Arvind S. Kashyap, who also shot the first part, has handled the camera. Ajaneesh Loknath wrote the music.
