Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra has been setting new benchmarks at the box office right from its day of release. This fantasy action flick featuring Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen in lead roles surpassed the expectations of the public as well as the trade. And perhaps themselves too, as the film's producer Dulquer Salmaan told in multiple promotional interviews after release. Bankrolled by Dulquer's Wayfarer Films, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra has entered into its fourth weekend by claiming the ultimate Mollywood record. It is now the highest grossing Malayalam film worldwide, beating Empuraan.
After 23 days, the estimated worldwide collections of the film is around Rs 270 crore mark with the final figures yet to be received. However, the one thing that is clear is that Empuraan's worldwide gross of Rs 266 crore has been breached comfortably and it is now a question of where the film has landed at the end of Friday (September 19). Manjummel Boys (Rs 242 crore), Thudarum (Rs 234 crore) and 2018 (Rs 175 crore) are the other Mollywood films in the top-5 list.

The fourth Friday saw another rock solid day at the ticket windows for Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra all over the world. In Kerala, the film clocked Rs 1.60 crore on its 23rd day, hinting at another unprecedented weekend. The total collections in the state now stand at Rs 97.88 crore with the coveted Rs 100 crore mark set to be breached this weekend. Mohanlal's Thudarum, which is currently the top Malayalam grosser in the state with Rs 118.90 crore, is the only Mollywood film till date to reach triple figures in Kerala. It is only a matter of time before Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra joins the club.
