Mollywood actor Unni Mukundan, on Tuesday, announced that he will play Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an upcoming biopic 'Maa Vande'. While the announcement garnered much media attention and is set to make the actor a popular face across the country, as the film will be made in all major Indian languages, the actor seems to have suffered a setback.
Although Unni Mukundan has been part of many South Indian movies, it was the Haneef Adeni directorial Marco, a neo-noir action thriller touted as the most violent Indian film, that gave him pan-India visibility and stardom. However, it now appears that he will not be part of the second part of the movie.
The second part of the movie, 'Lord Marco', has been registered with the Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce with Adeni at the helm.
"Director Haneef Adeni and Producer Shareef Muhammed have registered the title '#LordMarco' at the Film Chamber. #UnniMukundan is not part of the project. Who do you think will lead in #Marco2? Any guesses?," a tweet from trade analyst A.B. Geroge read.

Even as no official announcement has been made saying Unni Mukundan will not be part of the movie, a few on X suggested that maybe Yash could play the lead in Lord Marco.
Some other suggested actors like Tovino Thomas, 'Pepe' Antony Varghese and Prithviraj Sukumaran for the role.
It is to be noted that Unni Mukundan had said in a social media remark earlier that he is not keen on playing the character of Marco again.
