'Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra' 15 days overseas box office collections: Nears Rs 100 crore and beats 'Thudarum' to become all-time no.2 grosser behind 'Empuraan'

Two weeks into its theatrical run, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra continues to set new benchmarks at the box office, both in India and overseas. The film has already zoomed past Rs 200 crore globally, thereby becoming the fourth Mollywood film to do so after Manjummel Boys, Empuraan and Thudarum. Like its predecessors in the Rs 200 crore club, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra has also had phenomenal trending overseas where it has eclipsed all Malayalam films bar one. The overseas collections are on the cusp of touching Rs 100 crore and it is expected to breach the landmark on its Third Friday (September 12).

After 15 days, the Dominic Arun-directorial starring Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen has grossed $11.21M at the overseas box office with the lion's share of the collections coming from the UAE-GCC region where Malayalam films are known to have a stronghold. Apart from the Gulf, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra has also clocked terrific figures in the other circuits, with North America and Europe recording unprecedented numbers in these two weeks. On its 15th day, the fantasy action film overtook Mohanlal's Thudarum ($11.06 million) to become the second highest Mollywood grosser at the overseas box office. Empuraan, which aggregated an astounding $16.90 million overseas, sits comfortably at top spot and it will need exceptional trending for another few weeks for Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra to challenge the no.1 spot.
