Following the demise of Marathi actress Priya Marathe on Sunday after a prolonged battle with cancer, netizens lashed out at Ankita Lokhande online.
Lokhande played Archana, the sister of Marathe's character Varsha, in the TV show 'Pavitra Rishta' alongside the late Sushant Singh Rajput. Both actresses—especially Marathe—are highly known for their performances in this show.
Netizens criticised Lokhande in the comments section of her latest Instagram post—published on the day of Marathe's death—after the latter did not post a single post or Story on Instagram mourning her 'Pavitra Rishta' sister's death.
"(You) had worked in Pavitra Rishta with Priya Marathe ... Still not a single post or story," one netizen pointed out, in Hindi.
"Sorry, but didn't you get the news?? ... Were you really a friend?? ... You should have gone to see her last time ... I will unfollow you from today ... You are not a Marathi person," another netizen angrily wrote in Marathi.
"Sushant Singh Rajput did the right thing to you, a third person wrote, referencing Ankita Lokhande's 7-year-long relationship with the late actor, which ended in a breakup.
"You haven't posted anything after Priya Marathe's death. I pity your intellect," the commenter added.
