Fahadh Faasil's Onam release 'Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira' is facing stiff competition in the theatres from the Mohanlal-Sathyan Anthikad combo's family entertainer 'Hridayapoorvam' and the Kalyani Priyadarshan-Naslen starrer 'Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra'.
While it was expected that the familiar reunion of one of Mollywood's proven directors with the Complete Actor was going to attract the family audience to theatres, 'Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra' has emerged as the surprise frontrunner in Kerala this Onam season. Kalyani's superhero movie is hailed for its production quality and plot, helping it to surpass the other two Malayalam movies by a decent margin as the weekend approaches.
With the initial collection from the third day included, 'Hridayapoorvam's total domestic collection reached ₹6.54 crore, while 'Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra' has collected ₹8.48 crore, Sacnilk claimed. As per the website, the Kalyani Priyadarshan-Naslen movie had collected ₹4 crore net on day 2. The movie got ₹3.65 crore from the original Malayalam version on Friday, while the Telugu version got ₹0.35 crore, Sacnilk said. 'Hridayapoorvam', meanwhile, had closed day 2 by collecting ₹2.50 crore across screens.
