Kerala Police have informed reporters that South Indian actress Lakshmi Menon was among a group of four people who abducted and assaulted an IT employee in Kochi on Sunday night.

The incident reportedly began as a heated argument between two groups at a bar on Kochi's Banerjee Road. The quarrel escalated and became physical inside the bar before spilling outside. The two groups clashed on the road outside the establishment, media reports said. One group included Lakshmi Menon and three of her friends, while the other included the Aluva-native IT employee who was later abducted.

According to a report from Manorama Online, after the complainant's group left the bar in their car, Lakshmi Menon and her companions tailed them before blocking their vehicle on the Ernakulam Town overbridge at around 11:45 p.m. The report says the man was forcibly dragged out of his car and pulled into the abductors' vehicle. The group then assaulted him, punching him in the face as the car sped off. He was later released in the Paravur area, after which he filed a complaint with the police.

The police investigation focused on CCTV footage that captured the vehicle's registration number, leading them to Mithun and Aneesh, who are from Aluva and Paravur, respectively. The two have been arrested, and the police are preparing to interrogate Lakshmi Menon, as the complainant has confirmed her presence in the vehicle during the abduction.

Meanwhile, the Ernakulam North Police suspect that the ‘Kumki’ actress is on the run after the issue exploded.
