'Coolie' vs 'War 2' Day 4 Box Office Collection: Will Rajinikanth movie enter ₹200 club before Hrithik Roshan-Jr NTR starrer?

Since August 15 was a holiday in view of Independence Day, both 'Coolie' and 'War 2' enjoyed an extended weekend at the box office

Coolie vs War 2

With both Coolie and War 2 set to conclude their first weekend at the box office, fans are wondering how much both movies have earned so far in the first four days. Since August 15 was a holiday in view of Independence Day, both films were treated to an extended weekend at the box office.

Coolie opened to mixed reviews with critics calling out unnecessary characters that did not fit well in the storyline. Fans were thrilled by the 20-minute action-packed climax of the Rajinikanth movie, but the hype around the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial did not reflect in the box office.

War 2, on the other hand, did not impress fans who liked the previous instalment of the YRF universe spy thriller. But the box office earnings increased on the second day despite negative reviews.

How much did Coolie and War 2 earn of Day 4?

Around 10 pm on Sunday, Coolie claimed a ₹30.84 crore net collection from all the shows in India on Day 4. This takes the total domestic net collection of Coolie to ₹190.09 crore, according to Sacnilk. This means the Rajinikanth starrer just needs less than ₹10 crore to enter the ₹200 crore club on Day 5, way before War 2 could achieve the feat.

War 2 bagged ₹31 crore in net domestic box office collection on Day 4. The total collection of the spy thriller was recorded at ₹173.60 crore, reported Sacnilk. The YRF universe movie could join the ₹200 crore club on Day 5 if the weekend momentum continues on Monday.

Lokesh directorial raked in a net collection ₹65 crore at the domestic box office on August 14, the first day it hit the theatres, while the Ayan Mukerji movie collected ₹52 crore net in India, as per Sacnilk figures.

On Independence Day, Coolie net domestic collection dipped around 16 per cent to ₹54.75 crore while War 2 saw an increase of 10 per cent by collecting 57.35 crore. Saturday was a bad day for both the movies. The Rajinikanth movie's collection plunged nearly 28 per cent to 39.5 crore while the Hrithik Roshan-Jr NTR film slumped more than 42 per cent to 33.25 crore.
