Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan remain two of the most beloved actors in the Bollywood industry. The news about a crossover spy film bringing the two actors together has caught the fans by surprise and has kept anticipations high. However, the latest reports suggest that the much-awaited face-off has been put on hold indefinitely.

The film, Tiger vs Pathaan, has been delayed following a hunt for fresh creative direction. Earlier this year, during a conversation with News18 Showsha, Salman Khan hinted that the movie is “not happening for now”. A report by PeepingMoon also mentions the delay amid producer Aditya Chopra’s decision to revamp the film’s development. The producer added that the decision comes out of his desire to rethink the future of the movie, which is currently at the risk of following a repetitive Spy Universe pattern.
The report further mentions that the plan to revamp the movie would ensure that it would follow a new creative path. By infusing fresh direction and innovative storytelling techniques, the creators plan to avoid any sort of recurring formula fatigue.
With Siddharth Anand at the helm of creation, the movie falls under the banner of Yash Raj Films. Joining the Khan duo will be a stellar cast comprising Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif and Anant Vidhaat Sharma among others. The film title, Tiger vs Pathan, takes inspiration from the duo’s previous blockbuster films Ek Tha Tiger series and Pathaan.
Currently, producer Adithya Chopra intends to shift his focus to the production of the big-ticket film Dhoom 4, with Ranbir Kapoor starring in the reboot. Reports suggest that the film will be tailored according to Kapoor's screen persona, making it stand apart from the regular spy thrillers.
