After what seems like the longest summer vacation, children’s favourites Phineas and Ferb are back with a new season! The iconic cartoon has always remained kids’ top picks, earning a place in the top ten watched animated kids’ series, according to Nielson data. Despite the ten-year hiatus, the show has remained a go-to choice for many and resurfaced time and again through memes and TikTok.

The series is set to premiere on June 5 on Disney Channel and on June 6 on Disney+ in the US. The show, created by Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh, will be rolled in select international markets on Disney+.

The come-back season shows the stepbrother duo, along with their friends, heading back to their favourite backyard in the Tri-State area for another 104 days of summer vacation. The trailer promises fans new adventures, inventions and shenanigans; as they create a “Submarine Sandwich Submarine” along with their many other inventions. Added to the banter of the boys, fan favourite Perry the Platypus will also be back with exciting new missions – planning to fight against Dr. Doofenshmirtz, who has updated his social media status to “Evil Again”.

A special sneak peek video was also released earlier this week, which acts as the prologue for the season – the inventive brothers attending their last day at school, recapping their previous vacations as they nostalgically get ready for the upcoming days.

The show will also see the return of many of its original cast members; including Vincent Martella as Phineas, Ashley Tisdale as the voice of Candace, Alyson Stoner as Isabella, Caroline Rhea as Linda Flynn-Fletcher and Dan Povenmire as Dr. Doofenshmirtz. David Errigo Jr. will join the cast; voicing the character Ferb.

The five-time Emmy-winning series is also popular for its original hit songs. In anticipation of the fifth season, Disney has recently released a Lo-fi version; featuring ten songs from the series.

The announcement sparked immediate excitement online, with fans fondly reflecting on the show that they have long outgrown but still hold dear.
