Unni Mukundan said his manager Vipin had demonstrated more instances of problematic behaviour in the past, with complaints against him from different corners of the industry

Earlier, we reported that actor Unni Mukundan's manager, Vipin Kumar, alleged physical and verbal abuse from the 'Marco' star after the latter found out that he had posted a positive appreciation of Tovino Thomas' new film Narivetta, on which Vipin worked as a marketing consultant. However, Unni has now responded to the allegations with the clarification that he did not physically attack him but merely questioned his attempts at maligning his name.

In a statement to Manorama Online, Unni said: "Vipin indulged in behaviour aimed at sullying my reputation, and it's shocking to see someone who has been closely associated with you doing something so painful. It was upon the insistence of Meppadiyan director Vishnu Mohan, who was aware of Vipin's behaviour, that I went to see the latter at his flat to find out why he was speaking ill of me."

Unni revealed that the confrontation happened in the presence of a mutual friend. He said he was irked by how Vipin, who earlier admitted his actions to Vishnu, was wearing sunglasses and behaved in a dubious manner. Unni admitted to breaking Vipin's glasses but not hitting him while confronting him in a CCTV-monitored area. The actor then proceeded to tell him that their working relationship was over and asked him to return access to the actor's social media accounts and pen an apology.

Urging the media to get to the bottom of an incident before making assumptions about someone, Unni added that Vipin had demonstrated more instances of problematic behaviour in the past, with complaints against him from different corners of the industry, including an actress who addressed her grievance in the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC).
