Popular Malayalam vlogger and social media influencer Junaid, who was facing rape charges, died in a road accident on Friday.

Malayalam media reports said that  Malappuram native Junaid's motorbike skidded after ramming over a sandheap on the roadside. The 32-year-old suffered injuries on the back of his head and later succumbed, Manorama Online said in a report. He was immediately taken to Manjeri Medical College Hospital in a private car by locals but later passed away.

Junaid was reportedly en route to Vazhikadavu from Manjeri when the accident happened. Police believe that the accident occurred around 6:30 PM when Junaid's two-wheeler overturned after hitting the heap of sand at the Marathani bend in Karakunnu, Manjeri. Junaid was first seen lying bleeding on the side of the road by bus workers. He suffered injuries to the back of his head.

Junaid was arrested by Kerala Police on March 1 in a case of allegedly raping a young woman he met through social media. The complainant accused him of sexually abusing her on the pretext of marriage. He was picked up from Bengaluru and brought to Kerala.
