"A case has been filed against a total of 30 to 40 people...The process of sending notices to everyone has been started. Everyone will be called to record their statements," Maharastra Cyber Cell official was quoted by ANI.
Cases were filed against judges and guests of the show for using "vulgar and obscene" language on the show, hosted by comedian Samay Raina. Cases were registered against all of those involved from Episodes 1 to 6 of the ‘India’s Got Latent’ show.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) has summoned judges of the show including Allahbadia, Raina, Apoorva Mukhija, Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh and the show's producers.
NCW in a statement said that the comments made in the show sparked widespread public outrage. It "violates the dignity and respect owed to every individual, particularly in a society that upholds equality and mutual respect."
The commission asked them to appear in person at 12 noon at the NCW office in New Delhi.
Reacting to the controversy, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, “Everyone has limits, if anyone crosses them, action will be taken.” He also added that everyone has freedom of speech but this freedom ends when we encroach upon others’ freedom.
