India’s Got Latent, hosted by Samay Raina, is well-known satirical take on reality TV show India’s Got Talent. Each episode, Raina invites celebrity/influencer guest judges to assess the “latent” talents of contestants and see if they can guess their score, hence winning the game. The show is famous for is dark comedy but did the recent guest judge Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as ‘BeerBiceps’, cross the line?
Allahbadia asked a contestant an inappropriate question, which prompted audible gasps from the audience. He asked: “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life, or would you join in once and stop it forever?" His question shocked the panel and host Raina was even heard asking, “Kya ho gaya hai Ranveer bhai ko? [What has happened to Ranveer?]"

Another guest judge, Apoorva Makhij, who goes by ‘The Rebel Kid’, also made inappropriate comments about the female anatomy.
When you support vulgar comedy in the name of dark joke then you are inviting "no respect" culture in our society.

Apurva Mukhija aka The Rebel Kid literally got the sh!ttiest upbringing and Samay Raina panel clapping for that dumb joke made it more cringe#indiasgotlatent pic.twitter.com/JD9YkFLlF4
Journalist and storyteller Neelesh Misra did not hold back on X (formerly Twitter) to slam Allahbadia, the judging panel, and the audience. Calling them “perverted creatures”, he said, “This content is not designated as adult content — it can be seen with ease even by a child if the algorithm takes him or her there. The creators or the platform have zero sense of responsibility.”
Legal action taken against India’s Got Latent
Mumbai-based lawyers Ashish Rai and Pankaj Mishra have filed a complaint to the Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phalsankar and Maharashtra’s Women's Commission. Allahbadia, Raina, and Makhija were named in the complaint. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis spoke to the media, commenting, "I have been informed about this, though I have not watched it yet. I came to know that it was very vulgar and this was wrong. Everyone has freedom of speech but this freedom ends when we encroach upon others' freedom. Everyone has limits, if anyone crosses them, action will be taken.”
According to ANI, the Mumbai police has visited the studio in Khar where the show is filmed.
