YouTuber and podcast Ranveer Allahbadia has been receiving immense backlash ever since he made insensitive comments on the latest episode of Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent. A complaint was filed on Monday by Mumbai-based lawyers to the Mumbai Police Commissioner and the Maharashtra’s Women's Commission.

Now, the 31-year-old is facing added pressure as the Mumbai Police arrived at his residence on Tuesday. The police have confirmed that the visit is related to the complaint lodged against Allahbadia, Raina, and Apoorva Makhij.

Speaking to ANI, Shiv Sena member Manisha Kayande said, "Time and again, people have been speaking for censorship for OTT platforms and such YouTubers and comedians. It was vulgar comedy. I think they have crossed all limits. Such people need to be punished. There should be censorship on them."

What did Ranveer Allahbadia say?

On the latest episode of India’s Got Latent, Allahbadia, well known as BeerBiceps, asked a contestant an inappropriate question, which prompted audible gasps from the audience. He asked: “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life, or would you join in once and stop it forever?"

This comment did not sit well with netizens, many slamming Allahbadia for asking the derogatory question that made the contestant visibly uncomfortable. Another guest judge, Apoorva Makhij, who goes by ‘The Rebel Kid’, also made inappropriate comments about the female anatomy.

Allahbadia apologised for the obscene joke, clarifying that he had no intention to use his public platform to make lewd comments. “My comment wasn't just inappropriate; it wasn't even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I'm just here to say sorry... I personally had a lapse in judgment. It wasn't cool on my part,” he said.
