After a huge controversy erupted over the remarks made by YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia during an episode of 'India's Got Latent', a Mumbai Police team on Monday reached the studio in the Khar area where it was shot. According to reports, the Mumbai Police personnel reached the studio after a formal complaint was filed against Ranveer Allahbadia, fellow social media influencer Apoorva Makhija, comedian Samay Raina and the organisers of the show.
No case has been registered so far, but Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 9) Dixit Gedam said an inquiry was underway into the complaint, news agency PTI reported on Monday night.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had also reacted strongly to the development, signalling that the parties involved in the row were likely to face music. “Everyone has freedom of speech, but our freedom ends when we encroach upon the freedom of others. In our society, we have made some rules, if someone violates them, it is absolutely wrong, and action should be taken against them,” news agency ANI quoted the CM as saying.

Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena too condemned 'India's Got Latent' over the development, media reports said.
It was BJP functionary Nilotpal Mrinal Pandey who reportedly reached the Khar police with a formal complaint. He reportedly named Allahbadia, Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, makers, judges and participants of the show, and accused them of using derogatory language on the show, an official said. He submitted a video in a pen drive along with the written complaint, the official said. Pandey alleged the show promotes abusive language, vulgarity and nudity, and sought action in the matter.
Two complaints were formally filed on Monday in Mumbai over Ranveer Allahbadia's crass comments that triggered an outrage across the country that forced him to apologise. The complaints, one with the police and another with a city court, were filed separately by Congress and BJP members. Allahbadia's distasteful comments on parents and sex led to massive outrage across the spectrum, prompting the YouTuber with almost 16 million followers on social media platforms to apologise.
How Ranveer Allahbadia reacted after row explodes
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Allahbadia said, "My comment wasn't just inappropriate, it wasn't even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I'm just here to say sorry. Many of you asked if this is how I wish to use my platform and, obviously, this is not how I wish to use it. I'm not going to give any context or justification or reasoning behind whatever happened. I'm just here for an apology. I personally had a lapse in judgment. It wasn't cool on my part. The podcast is watched by people of all ages. I don't want to be the kind of person that takes that responsibility lightly and family is the last thing that I would ever disrespect."
Asking for forgiveness, he concluded the video by saying, "I need to use this platform better, that's been my learning from this whole experience. I promise to just get better. I've asked the makers of the video to remove the insensitive sections from the video and all I can say in the end is I'm sorry, I hope you can forgive me as a human being."
