Actor Shah Rukh Khan dropped the trailer of Bhakshak on his Instagram handle today. “A story of resilience that needs to be told. #Bhakshak a film inspired by true events, releasing on 9th February, only on Netflix!” he wrote. The movie, produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, features a stellar cast including Bhumi Pednekar, Sanjay Mishra, Aditya Srivastava, and Sai Tamhankar.

The movie was directed by Pulkit, who is known for movies like Bose Dead/Alive and Dedh Bigha Zameen. The trailer begins with an antagonist telling one of the girls what being an orphan means. The story is based on the true story of a journalist, who tries to bring to light young girls being abused at a shelter home.

The dialogue and shots used in the trailer will give you goosebumps. Pednekar, who plays a journalist in the movie, sports a no-glam look. In the trailer, Pednekar can be heard saying that none of the new channels wants to have anything to do with this report. She also says that the government hasn't done anything about the issue, despite being sent a report on it months ago, indicating corruption in the system.

The trailer ends with Pednekar saying, “Do you still consider yourself human, or count yourself as a predator?”
