Jr NTR joins Academy's prestigious 'class of actors'

Excited fans took to social media to congratulate the actor

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Thursday welcomed Telugu actor Jr NTR to its 'Actors Branch'. The RRR actor joins the prestigious group that includes Marsha Stephanie Blake, Ke Huy Quan, Kerry Condon and Rosa Salazar.

“Through their nuanced expressions, compelling gestures, and authentic portrayals, they bridge the gap between fiction and reality, allowing us to see ourselves in the struggles, joys, and triumphs of the characters they bring to life,” the Academy said in an Instagram post.

Jr NTR's induction into the new 'member class of actors' has fans excited and they took to social media to congratulate the actor. The Telugu actor, who has delivered many hits, received national attention with his role in RRR.

Directed by S.S. Rajamouli, the multilingual period drama revolved around two freedom fighters, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, essayed by Ram Charan and Jr NTR respectively. The film which was widely appreciated by the international audience also brought home an Oscar for Best Original Song. 'Naatu Naatu', composed by M.M. Keeravani, had gone viral with many trying to emulate the dance steps of Ram Charan and Jr NTR.

On the workfront, Jr NTR will next be seen in Devara 1, an action drama written and directed by Koratala Siva.
