The Kerala State Film Awards 2023 were declared on Friday. Xxx bagged the award for Best Actor , xxx walked away with the trophy for Best Actress. The awards were announced by Minister for Cultural Affairs, Saji Cheriyan.
The race for Best Actor was tight with Mammootty, Kunchacko Boban and Soubin Shahir among the frontrunners. The announcement, earlier scheduled for Wednesday, was postponed due to the state mourning in the wake of the death of former Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy.
A total of 42 films were shortlisted for the final round of the awards. The jury was headed by filmmaker Goutam Ghosh.
