October is here, and it is a festive week with Dussehra just around the corner. Streaming platforms seem set to ring in the festivities with a bunch of new shows and movies. Madhuri Dixit's movie Maja Ma will arrive this week, along with Akshay Kumar's Raksha Bandhan and a new season of the much-loved show Grey's Anatomy.

Set in the celebratory backdrop of an Indian wedding, the film features Madhuri Dixit Nene in the lead. Directed by Anand Tiwari, the film is a funny, yet thought-provoking drama, featuring Madhuri in a 'never-seen-before-role', the streamer said in a statement. Maja Ma also features Gajraj Rao, Ritwik Bhowmik, Barkha Singh, Srishti Shrivastava, Rajit Kapur, Sheeba Chaddha among others.
Raksha Bandhan: ZEE5

The Akshay Kumar-starrer, which performed poorly at the box office after its recent theatrical release, will now be available for OTT viewing. The film helmed by Aanand L. Rai revolves around a brother and his relationship with his four younger sisters.The film also features Bhumi Pednekar, Sadia Khateeb, Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna and Smrithi Srikanth.

The Malayalam thriller directed by Nadirshah features Jayasurya and Namita Pramod in the lead. The film also features Jaffer Idukki, Suresh Krishna and Johny Anthony.
Karthikeya 2: ZEE5
Release date: October 5
The Telugu thriller, a sequel to the 2014 film Karthikeya, had released in theatres in August. Featuring Nikhil Siddharth in the lead, the plot follows Karthik who sets out on a journey to discover the secrets of the Indian ancient system and Lord Krishna. The film also features Anupama Parameshwaran.
Grey's Anatomy Season 19: Disney plus Hotstar

The long-running medical drama is back with a fresh season. The much-loved series revolves around Meredith Gray and the team of doctors who have to make life-changing decisions every day. The series stars Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr, Kevin McKidd and Kim Raver.
Hasan Minhaj: The King's Jester: Netflix
Release date: October 4
Stand-up comic Hasan Minhaj is back with his comedy special, after the 2017's Homecoming King. The King's Jester will chronicle his thoughts on “fertility, fatherhood, and freedom of speech,” according to Netflix.
