The shoot for Bobby Deol-starrer web series Ashram 3 continues despite protests by the Bajrang Dal. The web series landed in controversy on Sunday—the second day of its shoot—after the right-wing outfit vandalised the set and threw ink on director Prakash Jha.

A day in Bhopal after the attack, police registered a case of rioting, vandalism, brick batting and assault against 25 to 30 people. Four people have already been arrested in connection with the case.

On Monday, the shoot went smoothly at different locations under police protection.

The protest took place at Old Jail premises where the crew was shooting.

According to the police, the protesters started shouting slogans and went inside to talk to the crew but ended up throwing ink on the director and later assaulted the crew who tried to protect the director.

They even pelted stones and vandalised vehicles belonging to the crew, including buses, Bobby Deol’s vanity van and cars that were parked on the location.

On the same day, the right-wing outfit justified their actions by saying they have an objection to its title ‘Ashram’ and its content which they claim is an attempt to tarnish the image of Hinduism and its Ashram system.

Replying to the question if they have gone through the script, state convener of Bajrang Dal Sushil Sudele said, "It is already known in public from the last two series of the same drama. We accept that some Ashrams have been indulging in such kinds of activities and their heads are in jail now.

"If you want to make a film, then give a particular name of that particular Ashram. You cannot tarnish the image of the entire Ashram system, this is our objection."
