Neena Gupta's memoir, 'Sach Kahun Toh' was launched on June 14 by actor Kareena Kapoor Khan.

The Badhaai Ho actor has made several revelations about her life in the book. Actor-director Satish Kaushik recently said that he offered to marry her. Kaushik said that he made the proposition out of affection as a friend. And that when he made the proposition, Gupta was moved to tears.

At the launch of the book, Gupta said that she had been writing the book for the past 20 years. “And I am here in my beautiful Mukteshwar house in the mountains. My husband and I were here in the lockdown and I was thinking about my life, I was thinking what have I done and what is going to happen now. There was a lot of thinking going on and I said 'Okay, I'll get to write my book,” she said.

Gupta said that that she said the decision to not reveal certain names were conscious. The book chronicles her journey from her childhood in Delhi to her days at the National School of Drama to being a single mother to designer Masaba and struggling to make it as an actor in Mumbai.

One of the revelations includes that Gupta and Sir Vivian Richards did not speak to one another for five years.

Richards, who is Masaba’s father did not talk to Gupta for five years, over a cancelled trip to South Africa. "I was happy for days after that and even got Masaba excited about the trip. 'We're going to meet your father,' I told her, and she shrieked with glee." But, at the time, Gupta’s aunt had helped her secure an interview with the main trustee of Jamnabai Narsee School. The dates of the interview coincided with the dates of the trip. Gupta said that Richards at the time did not understand its importance. “Or maybe I wasn't clear enough in explaining to him how difficult it was for a child in this situation to get admission in a good school. He thought I wasn't serious about meeting him and was just making an excuse to drop out. This wasn't the case at all. He hung up on me, dismissive, and angry, and didn't call me again for five years," she wrote.

Masaba Gupta, who has been the actor’s biggest supporter, shared a video of Neena Gupta in an ad for a pressure cooker with the caption: Next time I come to eat lunch I expect this exact performance @neena_gupta | have you ordered her book yet? Link In Bio #sachkahuntoh

Reacting to her daughter’s post, Gupta wrote, "Hey Bhagwan" in the comments. Soni Razdan, a close friend of Neena Gupta commented, "Hahaha Masaba how did you get hold of this?" Mini Mathur wrote, "I remember asking mom to make tomato soup and matar pulao every time after seeing this ad. Neena Gupta made this brand iconic."
