Padma Shri awardee, singer and former 'Bigg Boss' contestant Anup Jalota will play Satya Sai Baba in an upcoming biographical movie on the godman.
According to media reports, Jalota, in a statement, said he is glad that he got an opportunity to play Satya Sai Baba. Noting that he believes in the ideals and principles of Satya Sai Baba, Jalota said in the statement: "I have also observed him closely and read a lot about him. It required great research and playing this character will be a challenge.”
He has also taken to Twitter to share several stills from the shooting of movie.

Times of India quoted a source as saying that Jalota bears an uncannily, striking resemblance to Sai Baba and has been closely associated with the godman in the past. "Anupji is well-versed in Baba's mannerisms and nuances....He's thrilled to be a part of the film and taking a keen interest in every aspect," the source said to TOI.
The movie, which is yet to be titled, is being directed by Vicky Ranawat and will also feature Jackie Shroff, Sadhika Randhawa and Mushtaq Khan.
The biopic is expected to be released in January 2021.
