The trailer of Sadak 2 has become the third most disliked video on YouTube in the world, while it is the most disliked video on the platform in India.
The trailer for Sadak 2 received 9.04 million dislikes since its release on August 12. The top two most disliked videos on YouTube are ‘YouTube Rewind 2018’ and singer Justin Bieber’s 2010 song ‘Baby’ with 18.2 million and 11.6 million dislikes respectively.
The movie, starring Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapoor, has received brickbats from fans amid the nepotism row following actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide.
Sadak 2, directed by Mahesh Bhatt, is a remake of the 1991 movie of the same name that starred his daughter Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt. The remake is also directed by Mahesh Bhatt, whose daughter Alia plays the lead this time along with Aditya Roy Kapur, who is the younger brother of producer Siddharth Roy Kapur.
Netizens have not taken kindly to the release of Sadak 2’s trailer, with many calling for justice for Sushant. The actor killed himself on June 14, and Bollywood has been ripped apart due to the nepotism debate.
The Nepometer, an app created by a member of Sushant’s family, had rated Sadak 2 as 98 per cent nepotistic.
Fans of Sushant, while demanding justice, have also called for a boycott on social media of films with star kids, including Sadak 2.
