Bollywood actor Anupam Kher on Sunday confirmed that while he tested negative for COVID-19, the test results of his mother Dulari, brother Raju, sister-in-law Rima and niece Vrinda have returned positive.

The actor took to Twitter and posted a video in which he said he had tested negative for the infection. His mother was admitted to Kokilaben hospital in Mumbai and the rest of the family, who are “mildly positive”, are quarantining at home, and everyone is stable at the moment. Kher added that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMS) have been informed and they will proceed to sanitise his brother’s house.

Kher elaborated that his mother, who was not feeling well and had lost her appetite in the last few days, was taken to the hospital for a blood test. But a CT scan revealed that she was “mildly” positive for COVID-19.

He further thanked doctors and staff at the hospital and at the BMC for the support and quick response to his family members testing positive.

On Saturday, actor Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek had also tested positive for COVID-19. They have been admitted to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai and are said to be stable. Both father and son have requested everyone who were in contact with them to get tested.

Abhishek’s wife and actor Aishwarya Rai and the couple’s daughter Aaradhya have undergone tests, and their results are awaited.
