Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is the only Indian on Forbes’ 2020 list of 100 highest paid celebrities. On the 52nd position, Akshay’s earnings are estimated at $48.5 million. However, his rank has plummeted from last year’s #33, with estimated earnings of $65 million.

Kylie Jenner and Kanye West come first and second on the list respectively. Forbes estimated that 22-year-old entrepreneur Jenner earned $590 million in the last 12 months, mostly from the sale of a 51 per cent stake in her Kylie Cosmetics line to Coty in 2019. Jenner was in the news recently when Forbes announced that after a review of her data, it did not think she was a billionaire.
West, who is married to Kim Kardashian, followed with an estimated $170 million in earnings.
In the Forbes list, Akshay has beaten global celebs like Will Smith, Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie, and singer Rihanna.
In the list, Forbes describes Akshay as a ‘bankable movie star’ who ‘commands up to $13 million upfront for films like the upcoming Bachan Pandey and Bell Bottom’. Forbes has also taken into account Akshay’s first OTT series—Amazon Primes’s The End.
On the workfront, Akshay was last seen in Mission Mangal and Housefull4. His upcoming film Laxxmi Bomb, is expected to go straight to an OTT platform, skipping theatrical release amid the lockdown triggered by the coronavirus pandemic.
