Malayalam actress Bindu Panicker, on Monday, was examined by the court in the ongoing trial of the actress abduction and assault case. Bindu Panicker changed her earlier stand in court, and did not repeat the statements she had told the investigation officers.

Bindu Panicker was a witness who was aware of Dileep meeting prime accused Pulsar Suni at Hotel Abad Plaza in Kochi in 2013, The NewsMinute reported. According to the police chargesheet, this is the place where Dileep first hatched the conspiracy to target the actor. The NewsMinute quoted a lawyer as saying that Bindu Panicker said she was not aware of anything.

Bindu Panicker is the second witness to turn hostile in the case. Earlier, actor Edavela Babu, who is also the General Secretary of AMMA had changed his statement.

Actor Kunchacko Boban, who also deposed before the trial court on Monday, stuck to his earlier statements that he had given the investigating team.

In a major setback for Dileep, the Kerala High Court on Monday rejected the plea submitted by Dileep requesting the court to consider the actress attack case and the case of him being allegedly threatened by Pulsar Sunias two separate cases. Dileep had approached the High Court asking that he should be considered a victim in the case and so the trial cannot be conducted along with the actor assault case.

Actress Manju Warrier, who is also Dileep's ex-wife, testified before the trial court on February 27. The trail in the case began on January 30. The court will examine 137 witnesses in total.

In February 2017, the actress was allegedly abducted and molested by the accused. Seven people, including the key accused 'Pulsar' Suni were arrested in connection with the actress' abduction case. There are 10 accused in the case. The entire act had allegedly taken place in a moving vehicle, which was filmed by the accused to blackmail her. Dileep was subsequently arrested and arrayed as an accused in connection with offences under provisions of the Indian Penal Code and IT Act.
