Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's daughter Suhana Khan has been one of the most popular star kids on social media, and fans have been waiting for her acting debut. It has finally happened—Suhana made her acting debut alongside Robin Gonello, in a 10 minute-short film The Grey Part of Blue which released on YouTube.

Written and directed by Theodore Gimeno, a YouTuber and shortfilm maker, the story follows a young couple embarking on a two-day road trip to meet the girl’s parents. As the journey progresses, the couple is forced to face the realities of their relationship.

Suhana is being praised for her ‘magnetic screen presence’ and expressive eyes’. Suhana is her natural self, delivering dialogues with the ease of a professional, and conveying the emotions of a confused heartbroken girlfriend trying to save her relationship. Gonella is equally good in his character of the uninterested moody boyfriend.

While both the actors have done justice to their parts, the short film has lots of room for improvement in terms of its script and camera angles. But the original music by Emmanuel Gimeno and Lucian Wisniewski (with his song Lover’s Monologue) has also received positive response.

The visuals that are shot in tones of ‘grey part of blue’ complement the underlying mood of the film. The script, which is headed nowhere, much like the couple’s relationship makes the short film an impressive watch.
