Mom-to-be Kalki Koechlin talks about parenting style and birthing plans

The actress said that the baby will have a unisex name

Actress Kalki Koechlin is all set to have her baby in January. The 35-year-old said that she is planning to go for a water birth, which has been a popular way to birth among new-age moms, that is also said to be healthy for the mother and the baby.

In a recent interview, Kalki revealed that she was five- months pregnant with a baby with her Israeli boyfriend Guy Hershberg, a classical pianist. 

The Margarita with a Straw actress also said that the baby will have a unisex name. “I've chosen a name that works for either gender and that is representative of a gay person because I want my child to have that freedom of movement under the many umbrellas of gender that we have.”

The Sacred Games 2 actress also said that pregnancy has introduced to many new things and brought her several changes. “I already feel the changes in the way I react to things. I am more deliberate, slower, more patient. When motherhood comes eventually, it brings with it a new consciousness to your sense of a person.”

She has also talked about how the pregnancy felt much like an alien invasion and that the first trimester was bad. Kalki also said that she wanted to be an engaged parent than to have a particular rule or expectation.

Kalki, talking about marriage said in an interview to a tabloid, “we will see when the time feels right” also said that she won't rush into marriage because of 'societal pressure'. Kalki also said “our conjugal bond belongs in a Shakespearean drama and not in millennials. Marriage can be useful for bureaucracy, but it is not a sign of love.”
