One of the most awaited Mollywood movies in the recent years is the Mohanlal starrer Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham.
Ever since the announcement of the project, directed by veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan, fans have been waiting with bated breath for the release date of the movie. The wait of fans is finally over. It has now been revealed that the movie will be released on March 19, 2020. Mohanlal took to his social media page to announce the news.
Mohanlal plays the legendary sailor Kunjali Marakkar IV in the movie which reportedly is in post-productions stages. The post-productions work is taking longer because of the extensive use of VFX in the movie.

There are reports that Mohanlal's son Pranav Mohanlal may be making a cameo in the movie which also stars Suniel Shetty, Keerthi Suresh, Manju Warrier, Arjun Sarja, Nedumudi Venu, Innocent, Suhasini and Mukesh among others.
According to media reports, the period drama is produced at a budget of Rs 100 crore. Co-produced by Antony Perumbavoor and Ashirvad Cinemas, the film is touted to be the most expensive Malayalam film yet.
Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham is Priyadarshan’s 45th film as a director and the 25th movie which will be bankrolled by Aashirvad Cinemas.
