'Bigg Boss' Telugu Season 3: Airing date, host, contestants revealed

Indians love their 'Bigg Boss'. The show has been a major success in various languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Marathi.

The excitement around the reality show is palpable when the date for airing the show nears, with people floating the names of probable contestants who are likely to be part of the show and even the names of who they want to be part of the show. It also adds to the excitement that the show is hosted by a huge star in each of the languages—Salman Khan in Hindi, Kamal Haasan in Tamil and now Nagarjuna Akkineni in Telugu.

The third season of the Telugu Bigg Boss is likely to be to be aired on 'Star Maa' soon. According to a latest reports, the third season will go on air from July 21.

“I have always experimented with new things and am a collector of experiences. For me while television is not new, doing a show like 'Bigg Boss' is a fresh experience and I am really excited to be a part of this,” Nagarjuna was quoted as saying according to the Times of India. The mass appeal that Nagarjuna holds among Telugu movie goers is expected to further boost the popularity of the show. Promos for the show has already been aired.

Nagarjuna had earlier hosted the Telugu edition of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC).

Alok Jain, business head of the Telugu cluster of STAR, reportedly said the their promise has been to give the viewers the best class of entertainment and added that they will always try to deliver the same. "After two successful seasons, we are very excited to bring in a fresh flavor to the show with Nagarjuna as the host,” he was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, there are reports emerging about the possible candidates who will be part of the house in the Telugu Bigg Boss. One of the contestants is television anchor Sree Mukhi. According to media reports, her presence in the contest has been confirmed.

Some of the probable names who would be in the Bigg Boss Telugu house include singers Rahul Siplingunj and Krishna Chaitanya, choreographer Raghu Master and comedian Getup Srinu.

There were reports that the producers of the show had approached Gutta Jwala, but she turned down the offer.

The previous season of Bigg Boss Telugu had attracted controversy over alleged bias of its host actor Nani. He had attracted the wrath of many viewers after he was seen to be “harsh” towards one housemate. However, the actor reacted to criticism in a statement, saying he was neutral towards everyone in the house and added that it would not be possible for him to please everyone considering the fact that every audience member would have their own favourites.
