A month after Kangana Ranaut called Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt "irresponsible" for their apolitical stance, Ranbir responded to the comment.

"Whatever anyone asks me I do answer it. I don't have any interest in giving answers to these questions. People can say whatever they want. I know who I am and what I say," Ranbir told reporters here at an event.

In April, Kangana Ranaut had taken a dig at Ranbir Kapoor for not sharing his opinion on political matters. Kangana had called out Alia Bhatt and Ranbir for maintaining silence on social and political issues.

Speaking to reporters at a success party for her film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, Kangana said: "Ranbir Kapoor was telling somebody, 'Mere ghar mei toh bijli, paani aata hai (My house gets electricity and water). Why should I (care about) politics?' You have this house because of this country. It's the money of the citizens with which you buy a Mercedes. How can you talk like that? This is irresponsible."

She added, "We should take interest in national matters. It's silly to think that I shouldn't be asked about anything, (thinking) 'what if I lose an endorsement?' This is stupid."

Shortly after, Kangana's sister, Rangoli Chande, joined in with a Twitter tirade against Alia for refusing to do a Mahesh Bhatt film.

At the time, Alia responded to Kangana's attacks with indifference: "I should not pay attention to what people say or don't say. Everybody has the right to say what they want to. I will be quiet, that's my stand."

Now, Ranbir's reaction mirrors that of Alia's. Both actors are known for their apolitical stance, something that has not changed in their ongoing tiff with Kangana.

At the event, Ranbir also reacted to the demise of veteran acting coach Roshan Taneja, saying that he was deeply saddened. Taneja passed away Friday night after a prolonged illness. He was 87.

"He is such a great legend of our industry. He had taught acting to my father. Before I had started working on 'Sawaariya' I had done some classes with him. He was a great talent. He was a boon for our film industry. May his soul rest in peace," Ranbir said.
