Rajinikanth fans were in for a treat on Tuesday morning—the first look poster of the superstar's new film, Darbar, was released. Rajinikanth plays the role of a cop in the AR Murugadoss directorial. This is also the superstar's first collaboration with Murugadoss.
In a vibrant, funky first look poster, Rajinikanth's happy face is surrounded by elements associated with the police force—badge, police cap, belt, pistol, handcuff, a police dog and so on. The backdrop also shows Mumbai's Gateway of India.
Rajinikanth's first look from the film which was till now referred to as Thalaivar 167 was leaked online a few days ago. The team had urged all Rajinikanth fans to refrain from sharing the leaked photo online, and wait for the official release. Rajinikanth essays a cop after more than 25 years, and is a much anticipated role.

The film, which is expected to release during Pongal, will also see Nayanthara as the female lead. Music will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander, his second collaboration with Rajinikanth after Petta.
